Last week we spent a chilly day at the North Star Club in Yorkshire with a group of other super cool creatives and wedding suppliers, turning a concept which has been months in the making into reality! The inspiration behind the Scandi Brights styled shoot came from a trip to Danish lifestyle store Flying Tiger (AKA the best place in the world), where a colourful needlefelted trivet sparked our imagination! What resulted was a playful, colourful shoot which also incorporated the simple and stylish Scandi trend.
ALL weddings are beautiful, but our favourites are the ones that show personality, creativity, and have lots of fun and happy design elements! Our woodland shoot shows our beautiful bride having fun, playing guitar and toasting marshmallows by the fire, munching on gorgeous cinnamon buns, and dancing in colourful smoke in the forest. She wears a selection of pretty bohemian and vintage gowns, pairing them with fun silver and yellow Lotta from Stockholm clogs.
We wanted the shoot to inspire people, and show that a wedding doesn't have to involve roses, pastels and Jimmy Choos to be a perfect day - colourful and quirky can be fabulous too! And what could be more delightful than experiencing "hygge" on your wedding day, with your close friends and family sat around the campfire in cosy blankets eating sweet treats and playing acoustic guitar?
The shoot has lots of DIY touches such as the macrame ceremony backdrop, the dip dyed linen napkins, and the ribbon chandelier over the cake table - some great crafty projects which aren't too intimidating to try!
