11 OF THE BEST: OUR TOP NORTHERN STREET FOOD VENDORS FOR YOUR WEDDING

Lots of our lovely wedding/party planning and on the day coordination clients opt for Street Food suppliers at their events, especially for evening food. They love the relaxed, festival vibes of guests going up to a street food van (and often the vans themselves look dead cool too)! Street food vendors often specialise in particular dishes or cuisines, and are truly passionate about their craft, so they’re usually absolutely amazing at what they do.

I’ve worked with a number of street food caterers at weddings and parties across the North of England (and further afield!) who are really brilliant. I’ve even made some great discoveries at other events/food pop-ups in my day-to-day life. So here’s a list of some amazing folks that I’d love to share with you…

DUKE'S PIZZA

There are lots of ace pizza companies out there, but Darren at Duke’s Pizza does some of the BEST pizza I’ve come across. He’s such a lovely guy and the quality of his ingredients is amazing. You can give Duke’s pizza a try by visiting their place in Morley, Leeds (pre-ordering via Facebook is advisable)!

TACOPORIUM

Emma and Tom of Tacoporium create some of the best, most authentic tacos I’ve ever had in the UK. I booked them for a wedding back in 2019, as my clients wanted a really relaxed alternative to a traditional seated wedding meal, and they went down a storm with the guests! There’s also add-on options such as a nacho station, side dishes, and chocolate brownies too, if you want to have a total feast…

THE HIP HOP CHIP SHOP

I’ve worked with Ozzy and the gang at The Hip Hop Chip Shop a couple of times now, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Their fish and chips are amazing, but the veggie alternative (halloumi and chips) is an absolute winner too, and their trailer is always a huge talking point with guests! You can also try their food at their restaurant in Ancoats, Manchester.

TOAST OF HARROGATE

Grilled cheese is definitely an excellent food for when you’ve had a few drinks – cheese and carbs… Yes please! Toast of Harrogate do just that, and they do it well! Their little green horsebox trailer is super cute too.

TIKK'S THAI KITCHEN

Over summer these folks tend to be busy with festivals, but if you’re looking outside festival season, this might be a good option for you! Tikk creates delicious, authentic Thai food out of a beautiful airstream trailer. If you’re after something a bit different for your wedding evening food, this could be the perfect choice!

SMOKIN' BLUES

Owners of possibly the coolest airstream street food trailer in the biz! Smokin Blues have a delicious barbeque-based menu, including smoked meats, ribs, and tacos (and some great veggie options too). In addition to their street food catering, they also have a sister company, “Blue's Catering” which offers a full canape and 3 course menu service. Be quick – these guys get booked up fast!

LITTLE BAO BOY

You may have been lucky enough to get your hands on one of Little Bao Boy’s fluffy cloud-like bao buns at the North Brewing Tap Room in Leeds city centre. (If you haven’t, may I recommend that you do)! With tasty fillings like fried chicken, tofu and belly pork, your guests will be spoilt for choice!

FAT HIPPO

Calling all fans of burgers and fries… this one’s for you! I’ve not actually had a Fat Hippo outside of their bricks and mortar restaurants (which are dotted about the North of England), but assuming their street food versions are just as awesome, you’re onto a winner! I honestly can’t imagine anything better after a night of drinking and dancing…

EL KANTINA

I’ve worked with Laura and the team at El Kantina LOADS of times now, and they are always consistently awesome. Their burritos are about the size of a small cat (ok maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but they’re serious Yorkshire portions!) and are really delicious! There’s also the option for things like loaded nachos, burrito bowls, churros, canapes, and tequila shots… lots of tequila shots.

LUIGI STREET FOOD

I came across these guys at a Leeds Indie Food Festival pop up, and thought their Italian street food was delicious! If you’re looking for evening food, I think a box of their melty cheesy arancini would make your slightly tipsy friends very happy indeed!

REALLY COOL ICE CREAM CO

Because who doesn’t get giddy at the sight of an ice cream van? These guys have lovingly restored a vintage VW camper to its former glory, and have a variety of yummy Yorvale flavours to choose from. Vegan? No problem – these folks have non-dairy options too!

So there you have it... I hope this list inspires you! If you’ve got any questions, or would like any help making your dream wedding or party come to life, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to work with you (especially if it involves street food, just saying…)
